My boyfriend and I recently moved to Perry (near Lansing) and hired Empire Today to redo all the flooring in our home. We expected professionalism from a well-known company, but instead we experienced incorrect measurements, unexpected charges, damaged walls, and zero follow-through from customer service.

Mohamed Haidous, our sales representative, promised to handle everything correctly. On 4/15/2025, we signed our contract based on the measurements and pricing he provided. After installation began, we found out that he measured incorrectly, resulting in thousands of dollars in additional costs that were never disclosed or agreed to in the original contract. This alone felt extremely sketchy and dishonest.

The installation quality made everything worse. After the installation of the laminate, we found deep holes in our wall and chunks of drywall missing from multiple corners—clear signs of careless, unprofessional work. I contacted managers on 4/17/25, sent photos, and was promised repairs, but no one ever showed up.

Then came the carpet installation. The carpet is lifting at the transition from our bedroom to the bathroom, and the installers removed our trim but never replaced it, leaving exposed jagged edges throughout our master bedroom. Despite more calls, we received no response and no resolution.

We feel exploited as a young couple who put our trust in this company for a significant home renovation. Between the incorrect measurements, unexpected extra costs, damage to our home, and complete lack of customer service, this has been one of the worst customer experiences we’ve ever had.

If you value honesty, accurate pricing, and professional workmanship, avoid Empire Today at all costs.

Tim Raymond understood my budget and timeline and helped come up with the perfect product for our bedrooms. Installation was scheduled quickly, and the installers were respectful and friendly. They worked very quickly, but still did a great job.

We had a great experience with Empire. Cindy was experienced and so easy to work with in helping choose our carpeting.
The installers were extremely efficient since we had piano movers hired for a two hour window. It went very smoothly and our entire basement was completed in one day.
Their work was professional and careful. Thank you Empire! We will be contacting Cindy in the future for our upstairs carpet.
